Samuel "Big Sam" Franklin Williams' Obituary
Samuel “Big Sam” Franklin Williams, affectionately known as “Pappy”, age 62, of Carrollton went to his Heavenly home on October 19th, 2021.
Sam was born in Atlanta, but spent his youth in the Austell area. He graduated from South Cobb High School in 1976, where he was voted class president. After high school, he met his wife, Dana, on a blind date, and they were married 43 years.
Sam loved food, cooking for others, and his family proclaimed him a “Grill Master”. He was also a proficient card player (the “King of Cards”) and a huge Georgia football fan. In his free time, he loved to go hunting with his buddies. But above all, his family was most dear to him, and they find comfort in knowing that they will be reunited with him one day.
Sam was preceded in death by his father, Clarence E. Williams. He is survived by his wife, Dana V. Williams; mother, Sara Williams Worden; children, Samuel “Little Sam” Williams II (wife, Courtney), Hannah Pitts (husband, Aury), and Hope Williams, all of Carrollton; siblings, Angela Kuykendoll (husband, Steve), Chip Williams (wife, Angie), Melissa Jordan (husband, Dennis), and Jennifer Justice (husband, George); grandchildren, Landyn, Charlie, Grace, and Bowen; and many beloved extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 27th, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, you go out and share a good meal with the people you love.
