Rufus Elbert Blair's Obituary
Rufus Elbert Blair, age 97, of Austell passed away January 29, 2020. Rufus attended Concord Baptist Church for many years with his wife, Toni. He proudly served our country during World War II in France and Germany, and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. After his service, he went to work for Lockheed, and retired from there after 37 years. Rufus will be remembered as a hard worker and good provider. He was many things to so many people, among those being a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
Rufus is preceded in death by his wife, Naomi “Toni” Blair. He is survived by his children, Diane (Peter) Wachtel of Johns Creek, Vicki (Richard) Wright of Woodbine, and Scott Blair of Douglasville; grandchildren, Adam (Shelly) Wachtel, Lauren Wright, Andrew (Katie) Wright, Kaitlin Blair, and Blake Blair; and great grandchildren, Cain and Cooper Wachtel, and Huck, Locklyn, and Tillie Grace Wright.
