Ruby Lee Cantrell's Obituary
Mrs. Ruby Lee Cantrell, age 93, of Mableton passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Ruby was born on August 6, 1930 in Coal Mountain, Georgia. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Louise Byrd; her husband, Bernard Cantrell, her son Kenneth Cantrell, her sister Ruth Cantrell and her brother Doyal Byrd. Surviving are her son Tim Cantrell (Joy) of Mableton. Grandchildren Ashley Wright (Lee) of Mableton, Jason Cantrell and great grandchildren Kameron, Ava and Jaxson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was a loving, compassionate woman who loved her family fiercely. She stood strong in her faith and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church for over 70 years. She served as a Sunday school teacher and in the nursery for many years. She enjoyed gardening and being with her family. She will be missed by so many.
A funeral service honoring Ruby’s life will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Pastor Terry Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and again on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM before the service.
