Roy Eugene Hall Sr.'s Obituary
Roy Eugene Hall, Sr., age 84, of Clarkdale passed away October 5, 2020.
Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the 101st Airborne and also served in the Chemical Corp. After being honorably discharged, he went on to join the Air National Guard and worked as a military police officer. Following his military service, he spent 31 years at the Coats & Clark Textile Mill. Then, Roy went on to work for Cobb County Board of Education as a mail carrier.
In his free time, Roy enjoyed working with his hands. He specialized in woodworking and crafted the most beautiful lamps, bowls, and knife holders. Once he was finished, he would give his pieces away, never asking for anything in return. Roy also loved relaxing on fishing trips.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Maggie Rae Hall; brother, Ronnie Hall; and sisters, Margie Pitts and Doris Norris.
Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Jean Hall; children, Debra Kawczk (husband, Dennis), Donna Hall, and Roy E. “Buddy” Hall, Jr. (wife, Tami), all of Douglasville; grandchildren, Andrea, Carla, Troy, Justin, and Shelton; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Steve Durrough, Janice Bowen, and Ray Hall; and furry baby girl, his cat, Fancy.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 8th, 11:00 am at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
