Ronnie Lee Tollison's Obituary
Ronnie Lee Tollison, a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, devoted Christian, and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Mableton, Georgia. He was 74 years old.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Ronnie was the son of Jessie Miller Tollison and Hortence Mamie Tollison. From a young age, he was known for his strong spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering sense of duty—qualities that would define him throughout his life.
Ronnie honorably served his country as a Marine sniper, defending the nation with courage and conviction. Semper Fi—Always Faithful—was not just a motto for Ronnie, but a way of life. After completing his military service, he returned home with a deepened sense of purpose—committed to living a life of faith, integrity, and love. A devoted follower of Christ, Ronnie was a man who loved the Lord and lived by example, sharing his faith through kindness, wisdom, and strength.
He was also a true Georgia boy at heart—an enthusiastic Georgia Bulldogs football fan who loved cheering on his team every season.
Ronnie was married for 37 wonderful years to his loving wife, Nancy Joyce Crankshaw Tollison. Together, they built a life rich in love, faith, and family. He was a proud father to Michael J. Tollison and William Ferguson, and a cherished grandfather to Jessica Tollison, Kayla Tollison, Bailey Tollison, Addison Tollison, Stephanie Sanders, Austin Ferguson, and Justin Ferguson. His love extended into the next generation with his great-grandchildren: Noah Adkins, Cecelia Jordan, and James Mayo.
Ronnie is survived by his siblings, Earl Tollison, Linda Tollison, and Michael R. Tollison. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Miller Tollison and Hortence Mamie Tollison; his siblings, Billy Tollison, Evelyn Tollison, Milton Tollison, Bobby Tollison, Lawrence Tollison, and Jerry Tollison; and his loving wife, Nancy Joyce Crankshaw Tollison.
Those who knew Ronnie will remember him as a man of quiet strength, deep convictions, and steadfast love for his family. Whether offering a word of encouragement, a prayer, or cheering on the Dawgs, Ronnie made everyone around him feel seen, loved, and supported. His presence was a blessing, and his memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service honoring Ronnie's life will be held Saturday, July 12, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Easterwood officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 1:00 PM before the service.
