So very sorry to learn of Dr. Guanlao's passing. He was a great man and physician, and I'm glad I grew up knowing him and his family in Richlands. Many prayers for comfort.

I worked with Dr. Guanlao “Bubbles” for years and loved him dearly
I worked many years with Dr Guanlao in the ER at CVMC. He was a brilliant physician and also a friend to all. His laughter was contagious and never a saw him in a bad mood. He was definitely known for his Guanlao specials when a wreck came in, which meant x-rays from head to toe and CT scans. I know he is in Heaven rejoicing and still laughing. My prayers and love go out to his family.
Maria and family, my thoughts and prayers for you and your family during the loss of your father. He was always friendly, and was an excellent doctor.
How I loved this wonderful man and his family. He was an awesome E R physician and a friend to so many. It was a joy to work with him. He always had a corny joke to tell. You could not be in a bad mood in his presence. Rest in peace sweet Dr. Bubbles. It was a privilege and a blessing to know you.
I worked with Dr. Guanlao for a number of years and enjoyed an exceptional professional relationship with him. He was highly respected by all who knew him, personally and professionally. He had a great sense of humor and while there are sometimes very intense times in the ED, he instilled confidence and safety in every situation. I extend my deepest sympathy to Ellen and his family.
