Roger Wayne Leadbeter's Obituary
Roger Wayne Leadbeter,87 of Mableton, died May 27, 2026.
He was born in York Run, Pennsylvania, in 1939. He was able to convince an aunt to sign for him so that he could enter the Air Force at the age of 15.
After the Air Force, he was employed by the Weather Bureau. He then went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration. These two jobs nurtured his love of anything to do with the skies, weather, and aviation.
He enjoyed taking his kids and grandchildren to the air shows. He loved going on vacation with his kids and grandkids, whether it was the beach or cruises. He really liked the cruises and all the food. He did not need to have an excuse to drive. He was always up for a road trip, whether alone or with passengers.
He was an avid reader of newspapers; in fact, he had a subscription to the Washington Post for over 30 years after he left Maryland. He met his wife, Lisa Ward, and soon got married in 1962.
He is loved and missed by his loving and devoted wife, Lisa Leadbeter. Also by their children Kim Jones, Dwayne Leadbeter and Jennifer Pittman. He loved having his grandchildren, Josh and Haley Jones, Hunter and Jake Pittman, and AnnaBelle. DeHaas. He was gifted with a great-grandson, Holston Pittman shortly before he passed.
He will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton Ga. He will be loved and missed by all.
