Hollis was a joyful person. He always seemed to see the bright side. He was also adventurous. I was "life-changed" and blessed by being swept up in his 3 week road trip through the West and his decision to pull up stakes and move to Colorado. He was a dear friend to me. We laughed a ton. Although our marriage was just a short extension of our wonderful, college relationship, our friendship lasted. Hollis was always gracious, kind, empathetic (he often gave whatever cash or coin he had to the panhandler), positive and, above all, family-centric. Family was everything to him. Favorite silly memory: We were in California with our tent set up. We cut a whole bunch of Pampass grass stalks and staked them at the entrance to our tent to make it look Arabian. We had a whole Tupperware of Oreos. While sitting at the picnic table we were mobbed by Racoons! we shooed them away but in the night, they got into the jeep robbed the Oreo Tupperware and rolled down the hill fighting over it. We thought that was hysterical. Other favorite memory: working all day at the lake house then floating in the lake drinking Jamo.
Hollis was laughter, positivity and Family love. The loss of his presence on this Earth is huge.
