Robert Young Jackson's Obituary
Robert Young Jackson, age 84, of Austell passed away October 26, 2019. Robert served 41 years at Lockheed, where he wrote technical manuals. He and his wife, Barbara, were long-time members of Mableton First Baptist Church. Robert will be remembered as an avid student of the Word of God and was a teacher of the Bible most of his life. He loved nature and was a talented gardener. Robert was especially fond of his yard and rose garden, which was admired by the community. Surviving to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Jackson; children, Cathy Chambers of Austell, Elizabeth (Chris) Martin of Dallas, GA, and Rachel (Shannon) Buggs of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Alaina, Ashley, Nathanael, Samuel, Tanner, Hannah, and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Annaleigh and Jackson; and brother, David (Joyce) Jackson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30th, 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Chris Strong and Rev. Byron Ramseur officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. Flowers are appreciated, however, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice. Also, the family kindly requests no lilies.
