Robert Bruce Beveridge's Obituary
Robert Bruce Beveridge, age 88, of Austell passed away April 13, 2018. Robert was a 20-year Navy Retired veteran who served during the Korean War. Afterward, he was an independent corpsman that served on the USS Observer. After the end of his service in the Navy, he became EMT certified and worked as a volunteer firefighter in Bethesda, MD and Atlanta. During his time in the service, he became skilled as a medical photographer and went on to spend 15 years at Grady Memorial honing his craft and teaching it to others. Robert was integral in the formation of the medical media department at Georgia Baptist Hospital. From there, he retired at 65; but he was not finished! He then obtained his CDL license and delivered trucks and school buses, sometimes across the nation. Robert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jerrie Beveridge; children, Steve Beveridge, Bruce Beveridge, Kathy Cole, Dale Beveridge, Scott Williams, and Stephanie Haraway; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 19 at the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs. Interment will follow the service, 2:30 PM at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
