Richard Eugene Britt's Obituary
Richard Eugene Britt passed peacefully at the age of 93 in Austell, Georgia on March 14, 2025 surrounded by those that loved him dearly.
Richard was born to Cecil and Jenny Rae Britt on June 27, 1931. He was raised in Meridian, Mississippi, with an older brother, Cecil Jr. and twin brother, Raymond. Richard graduated high school and enlisted in the U.S. Navy with his twin brother, Raymond.
After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, he moved to Miami, Florida, where he began his career working for Riddle Airlines as an aviation electronics technician. Richard married the love of his life, Gladys Budelman, in 1963 and enjoyed 53 beautiful and loving years together. After retirement they moved to the peaceful Blue Ridge Mountains in Blairsville, Georgia. Here they enjoyed lake life and lived next door to their life- long friends, Pat and Charlie Lee. Richard and Gladys had a passion for ancestry and their travels revolved around their quest in discovering the identity of their ancestors. In his spare time, Richard could be found on the golf course, fishing off his pontoon boat or rooting on the Atlanta Braves & Atlanta Falcons!
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Britt; parents, Cecil and Jenny Rae Britt, brothers Cecil Jr. and Raymond Britt. He is survived by his sister-in-law Linda Britt, nieces Stacey Charonnat and Kristine Britt-Merry, nephews Raymond K. Britt Jr., Richard W. Britt, Daniel J. Britt, and Martin Britt. In addition to his surviving kin is his Goddaughter Debbie Lee-Kosmahl (husband, Herb Kosmahl) and their children Matthew and Kathryn who were considered extended family.
