Richard "Greg" Ashley's Obituary
Richard Gregory “Greg” Ashley, age 67, of Powder Springs left us Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Greg spent his adolescence in Mableton on Wisteria Drive, attended Osborne High School, and his family playfully labeled him “Mayor of Mableton”. Greg was quiet and kept to himself, truly one of a kind. He loved to watch NASCAR and the Andy Griffith Show. A self-proclaimed “weather geek”, Greg enjoyed keeping up with what the weather was doing each day and shared important weather-related alerts with his loved ones. Greg was a wonderful caretaker to his mother in her later years, and he missed her dearly. Greg was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend whose memory will be dearly cherished by those that love him.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Richard E. Ashley and Susan E. Ashley (nee, Hughes).
He is survived by his siblings, Karen Agan (husband, Stanley) of Douglasville, Mark Ashley (wife, Kelly) of Carrollton, and Kyle Ashley of Powder Springs; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A funeral service honoring Greg’s life will be held Monday, June 10th, 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 PM.
