Richard Edward Ashley's Obituary
Richard Edward Ashley, age 85, of Mableton passed away August 30, 2016. Richard was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He served his country from 1947 to 1951 in the Marine Corp. Richard worked on the Discovery Space Shuttle in 1985 and retired from Lockheed after 37 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Susan Ashley; children, Karen (Stan) Agan of Douglasville, Greg Ashley of Mableton, Mark (Kelly) Ashley of Hiram, and Kyle (Sandy) Ashley; sisters, Frankie (W.A.) Norris of Douglasville and Shirley Lyle of Grayson, GA; ten grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM before the service. Interment to follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
