Rhonda Kay Reece's Obituary
Rhonda Kay Reece, a cherished pillar of the Cobb County, GA community, passed
away on May 17, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on August 15, 1949, in Dallas, GA, she
was the beloved daughter of Rev. Horace George and Rev. Frances M. George. Rhonda spent
her life devoted to her family and community, leaving a lasting impact through her
personal and professional endeavors.
Rhonda is survived by her loving husband of over fifty years, Hoyt P. Reece; her
children, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her presence was a beacon of
kindness and dedication, enriching the lives of those around her.
Professionally, Rhonda was a respected banker who began her career in 1972 at
Georgia State Bank and retired as Vice President from Westside Bank. Her commitment
to service was recognized when she was named Citizen of the Year by the South Cobb
Rotary in 2019, a testament to her dedication to the community. Throughout her career,
she was known for her integrity and the deep trust she cultivated with her clients.
Rhonda's volunteer work was extensive, including her time serving as President of the
Board at Wellstar Hospital, the South Cobb Business Association, Sweetwater Mission,
WellStar Cobb Hospital Auxiliary, and many other organizations. She was a force for
good, always ready to help those in need.
A celebration of Rhonda’s life will be held at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home, 1975 East-West Connector, Austell, GA 30106. The viewing will take place on Sunday, May 19th from 4-8 PM, and the funeral service will follow on Monday, May 20th at 12 PM.
Rhonda's warmth, generosity, and leadership will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those she has left behind.
