Rev. Robert Pooley's Obituary
Rev. Robert C. Pooley, age 92, of Austell, formerly of Jasper and Rome died Sunday, May 06, 2007.
Rev. Pooley retired from the Air National Guard as Lt. Col. after 30 years of service. Graduating from Bloomfield College in New Jersey and Union Theological Seminary, Richmond ,VA. He served the Cherokee Presbytery in Northwest GA and established eleven churches in Georgia and two in Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Julian Pooley and daughter, Nancy Jo Pooley.
Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fannie Elizabeth Rutledge Pooley, son, Donald Pooley of Denton, TX, Daughters, Kathy Goodson of Charlotte, NC and Suzanne Zimbardo of Tucson, AZ, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11AM, New Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Jasper with Rev. Tom Rogers and Rev. Ben Laughlin officiating. He will lie in state from 10am until the hour of service. Interment will be Friday 2PM , Overlook Cemetery, Eden, NC. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2007, 1:30 PM, Presbyterian Village Center with Rev. Debbie Wells and Rev. Dr. Roger Martin officiating
