Ray Stollar's Obituary
Ray Stollar, 60, of Dallas, GA passed away on September 23, 2016 after a brief but fierce battle with liver and bone cancer. Ray was born in Cherry Point, NC, the oldest of three sons of Irvin and Carolyn Stollar. Ray's family moved often while his Dad was in the Marines, living in Oregon, Hawaii, Kansas and North Carolina before settling in Acworth, GA, where Ray graduated from North Cobb High School in 1974.
Ray attended Kennesaw College and worked in a variety of jobs for the next decade. He had been employed in the trade show and convention industry since 1996 and traveled extensively with his work. Ray became ill while working a show in Houston, TX and never recovered. Ray is survived by his wife of thirty years, Elaine Bentley, and four adopted children: Meagan Hollis, Dallas; Levi Stollar, Dallas; Tyler Stollar, Brookhaven; and Levi's daughter, Kaylee Stollar, who has been the light of his life since her birth in 2008.
Ray is also survived by his parents, Irvin and Carolyn Stollar, Franklin, Ga;brothers, Steve (Ashley) Stollar, Carrollton, Ga; Carl Lee (Haitao) Stollar, Franklin, Ga; brother and sister-in-law, Johnnie and Sherri Tomes, Dallas, Ga; as well as three nieces, Kayla Tomes, Hiram;Anna Stollar and Charlotte Stollar, and three grandchildren, Braiden Stollar, Albuquerque, NM; Elyse Hollis and Dalton Hollis, Dallas, Ga.
Ray was formerly a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Mableton, Ga and currently attended Burnt Hickory Baptist Church, Powder Springs.
Memorial service will be 2:00 pm on Monday, September 26, 2016 in the chapel of Davis-Struempf Funeral Home, 1975 East-West Connector, Austell, Ga. 30106. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Pastor Mike Stephens officiating.
