My Granddaddy was the most loving, tender-tearted, loyal person you would have ever met. He didn't know a stranger, and all of his friends were just extended branches of his family. It is with a very very heavy heart that I must write this. The walknng miracle is now in Heaven.
A walking miracle, you ask? When he was just 33 years old he had a massive heartattack, stroke and brain anyrsm. Doctors said he'd never live through it, but he did. Not only did he survive the 'impossible' but he walked this earth for over thirty years longer. My granddaddy used to be as mean as a rattlesnake, but with God's love, he became the most loving person you could ever meet. God changes things, and he changes people- but only if you let Him. My granddaddy not only let him change him, but he was the best example you could ever have of God's unconditional love. Granddaddy always had a smile on his face, and by that smile and love he will be forever in our hearts.
When he had the first of many heartattacks, he said that he just wanted to see his only son grow up into a man. When my uncle reached adulthood, my granddaddy wanted to just see him married, when my uncle married his wife, my granddaddy wanted to see his son have his first baby. When Sydney was born, he wanted to see my uncle's first son born. Eli is now a year old, and I can honestly say that God blessed our family with many memories of Granddaddy. And Granddaddy lived to see his prayers answered.
Let's face it, we all knew this day was coming, for many years Granddaddy suffered with chest pains, mirgranes, walking with a brace. Many times he fell, many surgeries on his heart. Many nights of the family prayingt that he'll make it 'just one more time'. But it was time for Granddaddy's suffering to end. And now he's perfect, as if he wasn't before. I can't imagine Granddaddy better than he was here, because he was the BEST Granddaddy I could have EVER hoped for.
Rest in Peace Granddaddy. April 9, 1941-July 9, 2007...66 years young. You will forever live on in our hearts.##imported-begin##Jessica Stevens (Moore)--Audrey's oldest daughter##imported-end##
