Pierce Herman "Butch" James Jr.'s Obituary
Pierce Herman “Butch” James, Jr. age 82 of Dallas passed away September 29, 2023.
Butch retired from IBEW LU 613 as an electrician after 50 plus years and was a member of Sons of the American Legion.
He drove modified dirt track race cars earlier in life and enjoyed racing in many events.
Butch was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margie Cleo James; son, Joseph “Jo Jo” Franklin James; brother, Frankie James; sisters, Mable Bright, Voncelle Jenkins, and Elise Brewer.
He is survived by daughter, Karen Gentry of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tania James of Acworth; son, Jerry James of Dallas; sister, Zandra Turner; sister, Yvonne Becker; grandchildren, Stephanie (Justinas), Sydney, Dylan, and Miranda.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Hennesy officiating. Interment will follow at Davis Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Monday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Butch’s name to the care and upkeep of Davis Cemetery and Chapel, care of Jan Ros, 1737 Patriots Way, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
