Phyllis Vernica Richmond's Obituary
.Phyllis Veronica Richmond (nee Jonas), 85, departed this life on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Ms. Richmond was born in Guyana (formerly British Guiana), South America. She gave her life to the Lord as a teenager, in Guyana, and in the past several years she was a member of Piedmont Road Church of Christ. Ms. Richmond retired from the Marriott Hotels in 1995, after 15 years of service, where she was a supervisor in the Housekeeping and Laundry departments. Ms. Richmond is survived by daughters, Grace Robinson (Cedric) of Albany, Georgia, Joyce Ann Alexander (Joseph) of East Orange, New Jersey, Sandra Roberts (Henry) of Marietta and son, Walter R. Richmond (Camille) of Marietta; Sister Joyce A. Sears of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, 3 nephews, a cousin, great-nieces and great-nephew.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM at Piedmont Road Church of Christ with Rev. Neil Richey officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Davis- Struempf Funeral Home.
