Penny Landers Turner's Obituary
Mrs. Penny Landers Turner, age 65 of Mableton, passed away September 06, 2012. Her family was most important to her with the Georgia Bulldogs a close second. She made all the holidays most special for her family, going above and beyond. Penny was of the SCHS graduating class of 1965 and retired from the Allstate Insurance Legal Department. She loved family trips to the beach and enjoyed her last trip in June, which was very important to her. She loved the Georgia Bulldogs and ended her prayers with, "and God bless the Dawgs." She also loved nature, especially the birds and watching them from her special spot on the deck. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. J. Alfred & Vannie P. Landers and her sister, Jackie Oglesby. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Billy Turner, Jr.; her children, Wade & Kelly Turner of Cartersville, Christy & Steve Smith of Villa Rica, and Amanda Turner of Smyrna; grandchildren, Kyle, Ethan, & Josie Turner, Gage & Gaby Smith, Ava Marria; and great-granddaughter, Brinleigh Turner; sister, Cynthia & Kerry Ayers of Mableton; brothers, Gene & Sue Landers of Whitesvburg, and Jerry Landers, Sr. of Austell. A private family memorial service will be held. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 9th from 2 - 7 PM.
