Peggy Joyce Oliver, age 86 of Mableton, GA passed away on October 3, 2018, in Austell, GA.
Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00AM- 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home in Austell, GA.
Funeral Services will be held Friday 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Senior Pastor, Dr. Randall Whitten, of Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Mableton, GA officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
Peggy Joyce Oliver was born in Winston, GA to Alonzo and Grace Garner on June 26, 1932. She married Marion (Buddy) Oliver on April 28, 1950 in Atlanta, GA. Peggy worked as a homemaker for many years caring for her four daughters and her loving husband, Buddy. Later she returned to work at Rich’s department store, Confederation Life Insurance and then retired from Dee’s Florist in Austell, GA.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Grace Garner, a brother, A.P. Garner, and her sisters, Betty Jo Daniel (Norris). Geneva Nalley (Leroy) and Dorine Stevens.
Peggy is survived by the love of her life, Marion (Buddy) Oliver; children, Brenda Hall, Pam Darnell (Larry), Cindy Walker (Bill) and Laurie Bridges (Bob); grandchildren, Brent Hall, Mindy Brown (Adam), Chase Walker, Ansley Bridges, Emily Bridges, Marshall Bridges, Ashley Darnell (fiancé Matt Canei), Kim Smith (Robbie), Mike Darnell (Tisha); great-grandchildren, Anna Heath (Doug), Nikki Smith (fiancé Raleigh Holcomb), Tyler Darnell, Brock Smith, Cameron Darnell, Karcyn Hall, Andrew Brown and William Walker; sister, Maurice Ford; four sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church for over 55 years. She was passionate about her church family and serving her Lord. She had a knack for making things beautiful and the homes of her children and grandchildren are filled with her handmade curtains and flower arrangements. Peggy leaves behind a legacy of her strength, compassion, and fierce love of her husband and family.
