Patricia Ann Tart's Obituary
Patricia Ann Tart, better known as Pat, went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2021. Pat was at home in Carrollton, on her little slice of paradise, surrounded by her three daughters, sons-in-law, and granddaughters. Her last breaths were not those of struggle but of absolute peace. She was a woman of perseverance and will who proved doctors wrong time and time again, but at the age of 82 her body just could not take anymore. She left this world longing to see her beloved husband, Tommy, and be with her Lord and Savior. She did not fear death nor did she fight death.
Pat loved her family whole-heartedly and was the core of it all. Her family was her joy and she made sure you felt loved. She welcomed all new faces with open arms and left you feeling as though she too was their grandmother. Her heart was so full of love. A woman with a true servant's heart, Pat spent countless years in the nursery on Sundays, volunteering at any and all church events, driving around getting donations for her camping club, and baking endlessly. Her coconut cakes were famous amongst her peers and you could consider yourself lucky if you ever had one made on your behalf.
The Tart home was the staple of parties, holidays, and all functions. She loved a crowd and community. A woman with a true love for nature. Pat loved to watch her birds and all wildlife out her window even when she could no longer go outdoors. She and Tommy enjoyed classic cars and taking them to car shows. Her purple hupmobile, Tommy restored in her favorite color inside out, was a conversation piece everywhere they went in it. She loved that car.
She not only believed in her faith but acted upon it and set an example to her family of what a godly woman should possess. A woman of values and morals. Who would cry out to the Lord on others' behalf. Prayers of thankfulness, praise, redemption, comfort, healing. She made her requests known to the Lord daily and her relationship was real and authentic. She worshipped and loved music. In her younger years, she and Tommy would often be found at guitar pickins with their friends and family enjoying themselves and the music. In her final days and minutes, gospel music filled her room. A sound of hope for the days ahead.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband Tommy Tart and grandson Jimmy West. She is survived by her three daughters, Cindy Kelly, Debbie West, (husband and son-in-law, Joe West), Cathy West (husband and son-in-law, David West); grandchildren, Steve Hadley, Jenna Roberts, Stephanie Handschuh, Janet Webb, and Traci Fiquette along with their spouses; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Haden, Sean, Ethan, Temperance, Teaghyn, Jonathan, Presleigh, and Tristan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 19th, 2:00 PM with Rev. Randall Jones officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mozley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM before the service.
