Pastor Darrell Hunter's Obituary
Pastor Darrell Hunter, age 83 of Centre, Alabama, formerly of Powder Springs, passed away June 2, 2026.
For 58 years, Darrell served as a devoted pastor in various churches throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
Outside of his pastoral duties, Darrell found joy in farming. He especially cherished caring for his cows. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his son, Russell Hunter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 ½ years, Janie Hunter; daughter and son-in-law, Lesa and Jimmy Bryant of Buchanan; daughter, Judy Edwards of Carrollton; son and daughter-in-law, David and Shannon Hunter of Centre, AL; sister, Christine Cupfer.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Daniel, Kristi, Jessica, Jonathan, Chasity, Mallery, Melanie, Lexi, Bailey, Tanner, Ty, and Dylan; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great- great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 3:30 PM EST at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Traylor, Brother Daniel Hunter, and Brother Ronnie Tibbits officiating.
Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 4:00-8:00 PM EST at the funeral home.
