Opal Poteete's Obituary
Opal Lance Anderson Poteete, age 95, of Marietta died Saturday, September 1, 2007. She was a riviter at Bell Bomber during WWII, retired from Rich’s in downtown Atlanta, and was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Ms. Poteete was born in Blairsville March 18, 1912, to Thomas and Mary Lance. She attended Mt. Zion School. Ms. Poteete married John Anderson July 9, 1946. They had one daughter, Patricia Ann. After Mr. Anderson passed away in 1960, she and Patricia moved from Akron, Ohio back to Blairsville and then moved to Marietta in 1961. Ms. Poteete later married Lloyd Poteete.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Ann Glore and her husband Johnny of Marietta, one perfect grandson, Michael Allen and his wife Vivian of Newnan, grandchildren, Rachel and Thaddeus of Newnan, one sister, Maude DeWeese of Fannin County, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, Sept. 3, 11:00 AM, at Davis-Struempf Chapel, Austell, with Rev. Eddie Barton officiating.
