Opal R. Perren's Obituary
Opal Perren age 76, passed away Wednesday October 7, 2015. She was born in Rome, GA to Grady and Etta Perren. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Johnny and Ralph Perren; and her sister Mildred. Opal had many nieces and nephews and she loved each and every one of them. She also had a very special sister-in-law, Shirley Perren, who took care of her for many years. Opal lived at Anderson Mill Rehab for 39 years. That was the place she called home, where she loved everyone, and was a part of their lives. She had family, staff, visitors, and residents that loved her, and loved going into her room to brighten her day, and their own. Opal was unable to use any of her muscles from her neck down, but she had her smile, which she used to brighten the lives of the people around her. She used her mouth to speak love, and her pure heart to tell everyone about her Jesus, and how one day He would come to get her and there would be no more pain. When Opal sang, it seemed as if the room would light up with angles and when she said, “Jesus loves me this I know,” she meant every word. She hardly ever complained, but instead, used her life to touch many with the Love of Christ, and without doubt she is now surrounded in His Love. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 10, 2015 at Anderson Mill Health and Rehab with Rev. George Williams officiating. Arrangements are with Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
