Nina Mull Gatch's Obituary
Nina M. Gatch, age 85, of Mableton passed peacefully in the early hours of September 2, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in Blue Ridge, Georgia to the late Ernest and Mamie Patterson Mull. Nina graduated from West Fannin High School, Class of 1956. At 17, Nina moved to Atlanta to start her career and her family. She spent the rest of her life in the Atlanta, and then Mableton, area.
While attending Damascus Baptist Church at the age of 10, Nina gave her life to the Lord and was baptized. She was a devoted child of God who found comfort in the Word. In the early morning hours, you could find Nina with her head bowed over her Bible and a cup of coffee beside her. Her faith was her strength, and her devotion saw her through the many joys and trials of life. She was a beloved mother, sister, and Nana who will be deeply missed and whose memory will be cherished forever.
Along with her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Gatch; daughter, Donna Gatch; grandparents, Robert and Martha Stepp (Patterson) and Horace and Minnie Barnes Mull; brothers, Dewey Mull, Glenn Mull, and Dewayne Mull; sisters, Evelyn Young and Mildred Stuart; brothers-in-law, Taylor Stanley, Harold Hulsey, Blannie Gray, and Randal Stuart.
She is survived by her son, David Gatch (Jaye); daughter, Teresa Gatch-Park (Terry); grand-children, Nina Chidester (Jeff), Jessica Gatch, Anna Gatch Lavin (Patrick), and Ryan Gatch; great-grandchildren, Austin, Matthew, Noah, Cason and Brielle; sisters, Virginia Gray, Pauline Cobb (Carl), and Linda Sue Hulsey; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 7, 11:30 AM at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Farren Roper officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home, and then leave in procession to the cemetery.
