Nellie Couch Medlin's Obituary
Nellie Florence Couch Medlin, “Aunt Nellie,” “Nelle,” 94, left us at about 3 a.m. on December 18th. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Medlin. Nellie and Harold, married in 1946, had two children; and she is survived by both, Hal Medlin and Kim Medlin Sanford. She is also survived by Hal’s wife Pam, Hal’s children Helen and Caroline Medlin, Sayge Medlin Jansen (David), Alyssa Dunn Wisdom (Bob), and Kevin Dunn (Anne), and by Kim’s husband Michael and their children John Michael and Sarah Grace Sanford.
Nellie had 4 great grandchildren, Sayge’s children Eliza Blue and Jack Wahlers, and Kevin’s children Ella Grace and Walker Dunn.
Nellie was the youngest of 18 Couch kids, originally from Paulding County, and as such has countless nieces and nephews.
Nellie was a lifelong member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church and lived her life in Mableton, Georgia.
The last 10 years of her amazing life she lived at, and thought she ran, Delmar Gardens in Smyrna, Georgia.
Nellie was a constant worker and retired from both Chattahoochee Brick Company and Wellstar Cobb Hospital.
The family would like especially to thank the very caring and amazing staff at Delmar Gardens!
A celebratory service will be held at Mt. Harmony Baptist church in Mableton, Saturday the 21st at 2PM with visitation before from 1 until 2.
