Dear Cyndy, Wendy, Amy, Cherished Family Members, and Special Friend Byron,
For more than two (2) decades, I was privileged and blessed to call Nancy a friend
and Sister in Christ! Indirectly, I came to know her through Oliver Cline a scientist
at The Glidden Company. Her consecrated life and service to others was a
testimony to all that is positive and valuable in this world! Circumstances preclude
attendance at her "celebration of life" service this morning; but be assured my
prayers and heart are with you as we collectively grieve the loss of one loved by
so many! I join you in rejoicing that Nancy is Home with her Lord and has been
made whole, that we as believers find consolation in God's promises and are
not without HOPE! Today I am remembering the occasion of her 50th surprise
birthday gathering, a dinner arranged by her friends the Pope's. As part of her
birthday present, I jokingly gave her a "Fancy Nancy" book. Over the years,
it was how I came to think of her! Our last (pre-COVID) trip was to attend a
Christian Women's conference in Asheville headlined by Janet Paschal. I can
still hear her sweet voice as she prayed aloud in our group session! Vince
Gill wrote/released a song about the anointed prayers of his wife Amy Grant.
I've re-titled it "WHEN OUR NANCY PRAYS"! I am reminded of the countless
times Nancy and I prayed over the phone. She was a prayer warrior and champion
for Jesus!
May God bless and keep you! Peace be with you! I will be reaching out soon.
With Love,
Victoria Woods
