Myra Louise Benton's Obituary
Myra Louise Benton, age 82, of Dallas and formerly of Austell, passed away February 26, 2024. Myra was born to Edna and Guy Nunn September 30, 1941, in Atlanta. She attended O’Keefe High School and in 1965, married her husband of 57 years, Arthur “Gene” Benton, who passed in October of 2022.
Myra had incredible tenacity and was a tireless hard worker. She knew the value of never giving up.
Abounding with style, she had a strong love of flowers, gardening, and photography which was evident in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Frank Nunn, and her husband, “Gene”.
Myra is survived by her two sons, Scott Benton, of Villa Rica, GA; and Dale Benton (wife, Victoria) of Anniston, AL; sister, Francis Reagan, of Dallas, GA; beloved grandson, Daniel Benton; and many beloved extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. followed by Funeral services at 2:45 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, Mableton, GA. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. J. Randal Whitten, will be officiating.
