Molly Lokslid McGouirk's Obituary
Molly Lokslid McGouirk, 21, of Powder Springs, GA unexpectedly passed away on November 22,2023. She is survived by her mother, Solfrid Sølverød Løkslid and father, Mark Edward McGouirk of Powder Springs. She is survived by her brother Jeremy Thomas McGouirk (wife Alyson), niece Katie Ruth McGouirk, nephew John Aaron McGouirk of Canton and by her grandparents Grethe and Jan Løkslid of Porsgrunn, Norway.
Molly was a junior at Kennesaw State University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs. She had traveled extensively in Mexico, South America and Europe and was passionately interested in languages and cultures. Molly was fluent in Spanish, proficient in Portuguese and Norwegian and was also studying Chinese at the university. She was currently working for US Customs and Border Protection Immigration Service as a Spanish and Portuguese interpreter for migrant asylum seekers in the custody of the Immigration Service. Molly cared deeply about disadvantaged people and those discriminated against, demonstrating her strong empathy on many occasions.
A visitation is planned for Thursday, December 7th from 12:30-2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service in celebration of Molly’s life at 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home, 1975 East-West Connector, Austell, GA 30106.
