Mildred Boswell Davenport's Obituary
Mildred Boswell Davenport, age 92, of Austell, departed this life peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Mildred was born to Leon Watley Boswell and Fannie Lou Scoggins Boswell in Hiram, GA. Her early years were enriched with the joys of farm life, where she created memories while tending to the garden, gathering eggs, and spending many afternoons high in the tree.
A long-time member of Flint Hill Methodist Church, Mildred poured her heart into everything she did. She enjoyed a fulfilling career, having retired from Wellstar Cobb Hospital in 1995, and continued to dedicate her time at Peachtree Printing for an additional 20 years.
Mildred adored singing and dancing whenever music filled the air. She was a beloved mother, partner, grandmother, and friend, whose bright presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Preceded in death by her husband, Johnny W. Davenport, and her partner of 30 years, Weldon Voyles, Mildred leaves behind her cherished daughters, Karen (Bob) Kamna of Austell, Cindy Spencer of Bremen, and Kathy Davenport of Austell; five grandsons, Jerry Dale Moody, Jeremy Moody, Jeff Maxwell, Robert Kamna, and David Kamna; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many beloved extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, February 28, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at Flint Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Hiram, GA, with Bishop Thomas Blagg officiating.
