Mildred Lenora Cunard's Obituary
Mildred Lenora Cunard, age 87, of Austell passed away September 14, 2018. Mildred was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Austell and President of Cobb County National Alliance on Mental Illness for many years. She received many distinguished awards including South Cobb Rotary Club Citizen of the Year 2014 and South Cobb Volunteer of the Year 2000 and 2007. She is preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Cunard; daughter, Patricia Jean Peel; son, Michael Clifford Ray; and son, Stephen Jack Cunard. Surviving is her daughter, Nancy Boatright of Buchanan; son, Philip (Susan) Cunard of Kennesaw; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leonard Ray of Ohio; and sister, Evelyn Nichols of Buford. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 17th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18th, 11:30 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Bill Rorie and Rev. Sam Braswell officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM, Hillcrest Cemetery, Buford, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness at www.nami.org.
