Mildred Perkerson Caldwell's Obituary
Caldwell, Mildred Perkerson, age 92 of Clarkdale, passed away July 15, 2015. She was born on March 8, 1923 and was predeceased by her parents, Amanda Hardy Perkerson and Bunyan Perkerson; brother, James Perkerson; sister, Thelma Perkerson and her husband of fifty-seven years, J. W. Caldwell. She is survived by her children and their spouses Ronnie Caldwell (Anne Morton), Robert Caldwell (Mary Helen), George Caldwell (Jo Anne), Virginia Caldwell Dilbeck (Johnny) and Roger Caldwell (Tammy), 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Martha Caldwell Hawkes and Earline Caldwell and by many nieces and nephews.
Mildred lived her early life on a small dairy farm on Clay Road in Cobb County. After her marriage, she moved to the Coats and Clark Village of Clarkdale where she and JW raised their family. She worked at Coats and Clark for almost 20 years and made many friends there. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was hard working, smart, funny, and caring. She loved God and the Clarkdale United Methodist Church which she served for many years. No one could think of anything critical to say about her.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 2:00 PM at Clarkdale United Methodist Church with Rev. Cindy Conner officiating. Interment will follow at Perkerson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Davis- Struempf Funeral Home, Austell.
Her family would like to thank her many friends and caregivers who enriched her final years. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Clarkdale United Methodist Church or AG Rhodes Cobb where she spent her last years.
