Mikhail Markman's Obituary
Mikhail Markman age 61 of Mableton died March 20, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Nina Markman; Children, Irene Geisner of Seattle, WA, Olga Miller of Marietta; Sister, Vera Evenson of Michigan; 5 Grandchildren, Mikayla, Zachary, Spencer, Leah and Kaj. Mikhail was born in Minsk, Belarus and came to the United States in 1979, living in Rochester, NY, became a U.S. Citizen. In 1993 he moved to the Atlanta area. He was a lifetime musician. He wrote a song about Rochester, NY and is now used by the University of Rochester. With his friend, Frank Teremy, he wrote the song "USA" after 9/11 and the song was presented to then Governor Sonny Perdue. He was an honorary member and then a member of Vinnings Rotary Club. A scholarship was established in his name and is called the Service Above Self Scholarship. A memorial service will be held April 12, 2012 6 pm at The Vinings Club, Overlook III, 2859 Paces Ferry Road SE, Atlanta, Ga 30339 770-431-9166.
