Michael V. Collins' Obituary
Michael V. Collins, age 85, of Smyrna, GA passed away August 5, 2017 at home. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with the Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 9, 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4300 King Springs Road SE, Smyrna, GA 30082 with Father Brian Sheridan officiating. Interment will be Friday, August 11, 9:15 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. Survivors include his wife, Betty; sons, Vince (Dee), Steven (Joanna), and Roger (Belinda) Collins; seven grandchildren; siblings, Patrick (Jayne) Collins of Mankato, MN, Dennis Collins of Independence, MO, Mary (Bill) Schultz of Palm Desert, CA, and Richard (Patricia) Collins of Sioux City, IA. Seven grandchildren—Tanner, Tara, Derek, Nick, Jewel, Auston, and Haley Collins. Michael V. Collins was born Janurary 14, 1932 in Ft. Dodge, IA. He graduated from Corpus Christi Academy High School & Loras College. He served in the United States Army. Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was filled with the Holy Spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4300 King Springs Road SE, Smyrna, GA 30082.
