Melinda Kay Epperson's Obituary
Melinda Kay Epperson, 73, of Edwards, Colorado and Chandler, Arizona passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 27, 2023 in Chandler, Arizona. She was born on February 23, 1950, in Indianapolis,Indiana to Thomas Edward Clark and Norma Jeanne (King) Clark.
Melinda lived all 73 years of her life to the fullest. You could find her climbing mountains, serving disabled orphans in Jamaica, traveling the world, caring for her family in every stage of life, welcoming friends into her home, and loving God through all the highs and lows of life. To know Melinda was to love her and be loved by her.
Melinda was united in marriage with Stan Epperson for 53 years and were parents to Jeff and Lisa Epperson.
She and her husband lived in 7 states during their marriage including Indianapolis, IN; Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA; Syracuse, NY; Atlanta, GA; Beaver Creek, CO and Chandler, AZ. making friends in all of them. She loved to travel and explore both close to home and far away. She traveled to every continent on earth except Antarctica.
Melinda was an important part of the family business in Atlanta, and much of its success is because of her. She loved the mountains of Colorado where she was an accomplished biker, snowboarder, and hiker. She had climbed 28 of the 58 14,000 foot mountains in Colorado and just last summer hiked 89 miles in the Swiss Alps.
Melinda was preceded in death by her son Jeff Epperson: parents Norma Bachelle and Thomas Clark: stepmother Betty Clark and brothers Bob and Roger Clark.
She is survived by her husband Stan Epperson: daughter Lisa Garcia and her husband Sergio Garcia:grandchildren: Adela, Isabel, Lydia and Xavier Garcia: sisters: Mary Clark-Haase and Susan Bachelle: nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 11:00AM at Catholic Church of St. Ann with Interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
