Maxine Guidry's Obituary
Mrs. Maxine Wilson Guidry, age 71, of Marietta, died Saturday, January 22, 2011. Maxine retired from Sears Roebuck after 28 years of service as secretary/bookkeeper. She loved to read, travel (her favorite place was the beach) and had the best sense of humor. She enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Philip John Guidry. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Penny Mayo of Powder Springs; Priscilla "Prissy" and Brian Beaver of Watkinsville; sons and daughter-in-law, Brian and Sharon Guidry of Dallas and Jerry Long of Marietta; nine grandchildren, Briana, Joshua, Kayla, Eric, Jacob, Amanda, Kristen, Matthew and Katie; two great grandchildren, Garrett and Addison; brothers, Charles Wilson of North Carolina and Thomas Wilson of Atlanta; sisters Jean Rice and Gail Jamison both of Toccoa. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, Davis-Struempf Chapel, with Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Marietta. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home and Crematory, Austell.
