Mary J. White's Obituary
Mrs. Mary White, 94 year old Cobb County resident, died Saturday, December 3, 2016. She resided at Delmar Gardens of Smyrna. She was a loving step-mom, grandmother, and aunt who will be dearly missed. Mrs. White was born Mary Jim Jenkins, on Thursday, December 15, 1921, in LaGrange, Georgia, she is the daughter of the late Ruby Lester and James Marshall Jenkins, Sr. Mrs. White retired from the Cobb County Water Department. She was an active member of the South Cobb Church of Christ, and recently attended Central Church of Christ in Smyrna. Mrs. White is survived by her step-son, Dennis White (Hilda) of Austell, GA two grandsons, Zachary White of Smyrna, GA, and Wesley White (Candice) of Acworth, GA, nieces, nephews, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl White, her first husband, H. Houston Hamby, two brothers Lester Jenkins, and James M. Jenkins, Jr., and a sister, Bernice Jenkins Davis. Funeral services for Mrs. White will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 1:00 PM EST at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home in Austell, GA. Brother Tommy Tidwell will be officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday, from 11:00 AM EST until 1:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will be at Georgia Memorial Park, Marietta, GA.
