Mary Watson's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Watson, age 68 of Marietta, passed away November 5, 2012.
The family and friends of Mary Louise Watson mourn her departure on November 5, 2012 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. Mary was a strong and loving person and mother of four boys: David Clinton Watson, Lamar Timothy Watson, Eric Edward Watson and Kevin Damon Watson.
Mary was born on July 4, 1944 in Bainbridge, Georgia. She was the second child of Henry William Terry and Louise Griffin and sister to Lamont Terry, William Terry (deceased) and Joyce Terry (deceased).
She later moved to New York where she met and married David Clinton Watson on February 7, 1964. This union produced four boys that Mary raised alone due to the untimely death of her husband. She was a strong and determined young mother who successfully raised four men.
Mary attended Westchester Community College where she obtained an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education which was used in her years as a foster mother to a host of children. Later, she relocated back to Georgia where she worked as a Cobb County School bus driver until her retirement. Mary has been a faithful member of Turner Chapel AME church since arriving back in Georgia.
Mary Louise Watson leaves behind to celebrate her life and memories her brother, Lamont Terry; four sons, David Clinton Watson, Lamar Timothy Watson, Eric Edward Watson and Kevin Damon Watson; daughters-in-law, Connie Watson, Shelly Watson, Coretta Watson and Ruth Watson; nieces, Cassandra Terry, LaKisha Terry, Roxanne Solomon, Lagina Solomon, Charlene Fisher; nephews, Gregory Solomon and John Solomon; grandchildren, Shavonne Watson, Eric Watson, Justin Watson, David Watson, Deanna Watson, Johnathan Watson, Cheyenne Watson, Aaron Watson, Shantel Watson, Chanel Watson, Cory Montgomery and Darnell Montgomery, along with a host of other family and friends.
All who knew Mary are invited to attend her funeral service Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Turner Chapel. A viewing for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Monday, 4pm – 8pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory in Austell, Georgia.
