Mary Ann Fehrenbach's Obituary
Mary Ann Fehrenbach, age 94, of Mableton passed away surrounded by her family on September 23, 2024.
Mary was born to the late Joseph Pera and Ethel Brewer Pera in Highland Park, IL. She was living in Portland, OR and working as a telephone operator when she felt the call to serve her country. In 1951, Mary Ann joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1953.
Mary had the privilege of living and traveling all over the world, from Germany to Japan. In her later years, she was an active member of the Freeman C. Poole Senior Center, where she loved to play mahjong, canasta, Mexican train, and bingo. Mary was a die-hard Braves fan and even, in her final days, was asking to watch her Braves. She was also a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James R. Fehrenbach; and sisters, Harriet Howe and Barbara Howe.
She is survived by her children, Gwen Ayres (husband, Noble “Chip”) of Mableton, Lori Willman (husband, Will) of Powder Springs, and Larry Fehrenbach (wife, Maria) of Orlando; eight grandchildren, Alex (wife, Ava), Nicole (husband, Jason), Tyler, Hailey (husband, Jake), Allyson, Andrew (wife, Rachel), Grant, and Jake; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 7, 2:30 PM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. For anyone attending the graveside service, please plan to arrive at the cemetery by 2:15 PM.
The family will receive friends before the service from 11:30 to 12:30 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home in Austell, GA.
