Mary Jo Cottrill's Obituary
Mary Jo Cottrill, age 59, of Powder Springs passed away January 16, 2021. Mary was a member of Beulah Church of Christ in Douglasville. She was born in 1961 to Joseph and Lola Alender in Louisville, KY, and graduated from Ahrens High School in Louisville in 1979.
Mary was a Christian, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, wife, friend, and loyal worker. With each role she took on, she did so with love and compassion, and always put others first. Her loving character and beautiful personality, which was influenced by her devout Christian faith, guided her life. Her family was most important to her, and she loved Patrick, Joshua, Olivia, Sydney, and Dennis beyond measure. Her love was not manifested in just words, but in her every action. Mary will be greatly missed by everyone that she knew.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Benno and Lola Mae Alender. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Dennis P. Cottrill of Powder Springs; sons, Patrick (Chelsea) Cottrill of Powder Springs, and Joshua (Rehanna) Cottrill of Dallas; grandchildren, Olivia Marie and Sydney Jo Cottrill; siblings, Joseph Alender, Barbara (Jerry) Hesson, and Karen (Steve) Baldwin; and many beloved extended family and friends.
