Smallwood Auto Parts Co-owner Dies.
Marvin E. Smallwood, age 72 of Warm Springs, formerly of Paulding County, passed away July 30, 2013. Marvin was born in Atlanta. He was a family man who spent his life working hard and helping others, a member of Greenville Baptist Church, Leland Masonic Lodge, and the Red Devil Clown Unit of Yaarab Shrine Temple. Marvin served on the Recycling Boards of Gov. Joe Frank Harris and Gov. Roy Barnes. He retired to his love of farming in the area of Pine Mountain, Georgia.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Annie Ruth Smallwood; his daughters: Vicki & Al Pursley of Hiram and Donna & David Pattillo of Douglasville; special Hansard family members: Gale Hansard Poteete, John Hansard, Melvin Hansard, and Herman Hansard; brothers: Ike Smallwood and Daryl Smallwood; sisters: Faye Poole, Sue Steffner, and Erline Swann; grandchildren: Troy Travis and Trina Lucero; great-grandchildren: Lexi Lucero, Ava Lucero, and Camron Travis.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Davis-Struempf Chapel on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jonathon Porter officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery.
