Marvin Seldon Brown's Obituary
BROWN, MARVIN "SELDON" (born 9-4-1935) went to Heaven Sunday morning, 9:30 AM to be eternally in the arms of Jesus. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, gramps, brother, and provider to his wife, daughter, granddaughters, sisters, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jessie Louise Brown (Wood); daughter, Theresa Lee Kelani (age 54); granddaughters, Jessica Ann Russell (34), and Alia Marie Kelani (27), great grandson, Matteo Riyad Kelani-Jordon (14 mos.); sisters Irene Lester, Martha Bishop, Marie Cofer, and Jewell Baumann; brother, Weldon Brown; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In his early years, Seldon worked for the Chevrolet plant in Atlanta. He was also a 50 year member of the Moose Lodge in Mableton. Afterward, he was a new and used car salesman for numerous Ford dealerships in the Marietta area up until his retirement at age 70.
In his later years, he gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ and served faithfully until God called him home to be with Him. We are comforted by the thought that he is in Heaven with his family members that preceded him, his mother and father Earnest and Mary Brown, his brother Elmer Brown and many others.
Viewing will be at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home on Wednesday, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Ricky Perkins officiating. Interment will follow the service at Westview Cemetery in West End. Flowers are accepted, or a donation may be made in Seldon's name to Infantile Spasms Research Initiative for Seldon's great grandson Matteo Riyad Kelani-Jordan who is currently battling Infantile spasms (https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=cure&id=3).
