Martha Edna Yarborough's Obituary
Martha Edna Yarborough, 98 of Austell, GA died peacefully on July 31, 2020. She requested no funeral service to be performed. A graveside burial will be held at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens on August 5, 2020.
Mrs. Yarborough was born in Cordova, AL on May 17, 1922 to the late Ollie and Della Stricklin. She married Richard Yarborough of Jasper, AL on October 12, 1940, and they remained married until his passing on April 10, 1982. In time, the family moved to Rome, GA and later settled in Austell, GA in 1958. She worked in the accounting department at Genuine Parts Company in Atlanta, GA for 18 years where she made many long-term friendships.
She was a quiet, humble, loving person who walked with the Lord. She always extended a helping hand to family and friends. She touched everyone with tenderness and kindness that will never be forgotten.
She was the last surviving member of eight Stricklin siblings.
She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Joan Farlow and her son-in-law Roger Farlow.
Survivors include: her son and his spouse Richard and Jacki Yarborough of Marietta, GA, and her daughter and her spouse Debra and Samuel Herston of Eufaula, AL. Other survivors include five grandchildren: Kyle Farlow of Austell, GA, Amy Bishop and her spouse Mike Bishop of Acworth, GA, Benjamin Herston and his spouse MegAnn Herston of Fairfield CA, Bryan Herston of Gypsum, CO, Jessica Wagner and her spouse Mike Wagner of Dacono, CO. She had six great grandchildren: Nicole, Alice, Lucy, and Henry Herston of Fairfield, CA, Mikayla Bishop of Acworth, GA, and Cole Wagner of Dacono, CO.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to any of the following: American Heart Association, Epilepsy Foundation, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
