Martha Ann Smith's Obituary
Martha Smith won her battle with Alzheimer’s July 24, 2019 surrounded by her closest family. Martha, a.k.a. Nana, was the perfect example of nurturing and love. She had a servants heart with a spitfire drive that surprised even those closest to her. She was the anchor of our family, an unwavering friend, and the most perfect Nana! Her wit and independence will continue on through us without a doubt. To say we will miss her is an understatement. We love you Nana!
Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Melvin Smith; son, Barry Smith; and great-granddaughter, Campbell Britt. She is survived by her children, Terre (Michael) Stephens of Winston, and Jack (Michelle) Smith of Aragon; grandchildren, Calee Britt of Winston, Kacie Hansek of Winston, and Jacob Smith of Dallas; and great-grandchildren, Hailey Hansek, Hutson Britt, and Wyatt Hansek. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 27th, 6:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
