Marshall Eugene Tinsley's Obituary
Marshall Eugene Tinsley, age 76 of Monticello, passed away May 9, 2021. Marshall was born December 3, 1944, in Monticello, Georgia to Jessie Mae Appling and Charlie Tinsley. Marshall served in the United States Army for 2 years as a specialist. He worked as a self-employed carpenter/contractor where he did jobs for many companies building homes/renovations and was a caretaker on a farm. Marshall was a man of many talents. Marshall was a devoted Mason who held the title of 33rd Master Mason. He was a member of the Masab Temple #11, Past Master of Forsyth Lodge #425, Past Grand Senior Stewart at the most worshipful lodge of Georgia, and J.H. Walker Consistory #14. In his free time, he loved working in his yard and helped others within the community. There was nothing he would not do for anyone. His favorite things to do were playing cards, fishing, church, and Mason where he enjoyed being a part of the Lodge. Most dear to his heart was his daughter, Yolanda. She was the light to his eyes and his life. Marshall loved his family and would do anything for them. He was a very special man and he will be missed. Marshall is preceded in death by his mother and father, Jessie Mae Appling and Charlie Tinsley; his sister, Alberta Kelly; brother, Dave Tinsley. He is survived by his daughter Yolanda Wilson; grandchildren, Travis and Zackery Wilson (Nicole); great-grandchildren, A’darrian, Camryn, Jamar, Jazlyn, and Kingston Wilson; sisters, Ruthie Mae Richard and Martha Arelene White (Rufus); brothers, Charlie and Willie Tinsley and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 12:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gayle Middlebrook, Rev. Shawn Grady, and Rev. Kelvin Washington officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home from 11-12 PM. In keeping with current precautions due to COVID-19, we are requesting that anyone visiting wear a mask and maintains social distancing.
