Mark Carroll Greene's Obituary
Mark Carroll Greene, age 65, of Marietta, passed away on June 9th, 2025.
Mark was born to Melvin and Martha A. Greene in Newport News, Virginia, but spent the majority of his young adult life in Arvada, Colorado. He graduated from Arvada High School in 1979 and later obtained his Bachelor of Arts in 1989 and his Master’s from Oglethorpe University in 1995.
Mark always had a passion for Early Childhood Education and music. He was a devoted Kindergarten teacher at Garden Hills Elementary School and a Music Specialist at Clarkdale Elementary in Cobb County.
Mark was best known for his elementary band program. He was a passionate music teacher and spent his best years pouring his heart and soul into his band and chorus program at Clarkdale Elementary. His Musical Productions were legendary in the community and included well-known names such as The Music Man, Oklahoma, Annie, The King and I, and more. His students and his work were his pride and joy, and he spoke highly of them any chance he could.
Outside the classroom, Mark was a loving father, son, and pet parent to his beloved corgi Chip Andrew Greene and to his treasured fish.
He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Andrew Greene; his Aunt, Shelvey Jean Dodge, and his grandparents, Etta Theresa and John Francis Ryan, and Evelyn and Jacklyn, “Jack” Greene.
