Marjorie Austin Smith's Obituary
Marjorie Austin Smith, age 93, of Dallas passed away on June 19, 2019. She was a Godly woman who loved her family and her Savior. Marjorie was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church for 60 years. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she lived and raised her family for many years in Mableton. She was known as an active homemaker who enjoyed socializing and helping others. She also worked outside the home prior to the birth of her children and after they left the nest. Her life was characterized by her tireless work ethic, her devotion to those she loved, and her role as care giver.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Smith. Family members include her children, Kathie (Gary) Mauldin of Dallas, and Debbie (Gene) Fee of Martinez; grandchildren, Logan (Angela) Mauldin, Callie (Kamy) Nikkhah, Whitney (Michael) Whitlock, and Kyle (Kayla) Fee; and 6 great-grandchildren. Also, 2 sisters, Sondra Jones and Claudia (Glenn) Smith; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22nd, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel in Austell. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. Flowers are accepted, however, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund, 561 Veterans Memorial Highway, Mableton, GA 30126.
