Marjorie Hunt's Obituary
Mrs. Marjorie H. Hunt, age 85, of Smyrna, died Monday, September 28, 2009 at Powder Springs Nursing and Rehab in Powder Springs, GA following an extended illness. She was born in Springfield, MO on December 12, 1923 to Lewis Johnson and Hazel Melissa (Hedges) Brown, Sr. She married Arthur Samuel Hunt on December 12, 1952 in Bremerton, WA while in the service. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A longtime resident of Springfield and member of Grant Avenue Baptist Church, she enjoyed genealogy research and helped to compile extensive data for both her and her husband's families. Mrs. Hunt is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda S. (Hunt) and Marcus E. Massey of Smyrna, GA; one grandson, Samuel E. Massey of Smyrna, GA; and two granddaughters, Miranda L. (Hunt) Ross and Jennifer N. Hunt, both of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Edward L. Hunt. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, local time, on Friday, October 9, 2009 at Grant Avenue Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. Private interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery at a later date.
