I am sorry that I could not attend. I've known Mrs. Burke for over 35 years and she has truly been an inspiration to me. Her wisdon and understanding of life has always been a guiding rule and blessing. We will all miss her very much. God defineltly has a wonderful angel with him now. Marie was such a special lady who had tireless energy when it came to helping anyone in need. Her faith and spirit were such an inspiration for so many who witnessed her in action. St Vincent de Paul never had such an avid contributer of selfless time and talent! We will miss seeing her around.

I am so sorry that I am out of town and cannot attend the funeral with you and all the other Vincentians. Marie will be missed by many. I will miss her beautiful smiling face and of course we will all miss her presence at St. Thomas.

I just now learned of your loss, otherwise I would have been there tonight. I'm sorry that I will be out of town and will miss the funeral tomorrow. The most heartwarming memory I have of her was before mass, especially Midnight Mass, and seeing all the joy with every arrival of her children and grandchildren.
